Women Sci-fi/Fantasy Writers: A Horny Lot

I'm a member of the Science Fiction Book Club (www.sfbc.com), so I routinely get emails about new books coming out. While browsing some of the featured ones, it hit me that there are a LOT of horny female writers in this genre. EVERY SINGLE BOOK is about a human chick gittin' it on with a vampire or werewolf. You don't see that many erotic sci-fi fantasy books from men, which given our reputation, you would expect it from us instead.

Though this is probably a rude stereotype, I'm wondering if maybe all the chicks that are into fantasy enough to write it were the, let's say, "last to be asked to prom" chicks in school?
