Rear brake (drum) self adjuster question
When I was disassembling the rear brakes I noticed the self-adjuster has a lever that rides on a notched cam on the adjuster. The lever was up high on the cam (back side). When I was reassembling this part it was difficult to get it located at this exact position during assembly. The lever seems to be in contact with the cam but it is lower on the back side of the cam. Should I try to set it higher on the cam? I have a new drum on order and will open it back up when the drum arrives. If it is not in the position that it was prior to disassembly then I assume I should try to get up to the position correct? I had to adjust the self-adjuster almost all the way in to get the drum on. I hope this all makes sense, thanks.
