BCS
Hmmm with this being an international board an interesting debate should be sparked…..So I’ll begin. The Florida Gators are my favorite team with Ohio State being my number two (born in OH moved to and grew up in Jacksonville.) I’d love to see them play but I’d much rather have the BCS “screwed” leaving several teams outside looking in and no real champion. In my dreams this leads to boycotts and formation of a playoff system…..probably just pure fantasy though.
On another note as a fan of the game I can’t justify the UF/OS match-up or any other over Rutgers getting in (if they don't lose) wow that a game! I know in all likely hood they will be unfairly ranked below most if not all of the one loss teams...weak schedule? I'm not so sure....everyone plays some pattycakes. I'm even "ok" with them jumping to 3 over my Gators but...who am I? So what’s going to happen how is this all going to work out and leave us all satisfied with a champ…......Who’s number 1? Or perhaps I should say who is going to be number 2?!?

Wow that is awesome you were at the game, what a story to tell!!! Meanwhile the BCS sucks, how the hell does USC jump Florida…..ARRRGGG!! Glad Rutgers moved as far as they did though.
Hope the game lives up to the HYPE for the Ohio/Michigan game!

Yeah now were talking, I was starting to think only a few of us liked College Football! Some pretty bold predictions just about everyone catches one upside the head!

Bahhh! BCS is garbage! It’s now looking like 5-6 teams will have one loss Boise with none and of course only one team gets a shot. Even if that team wins OS will then also have one loss…..makes it hard to look in the mirror and say “we are the champs” when every team is equal…..A playoff system would be so sweet!

Well Well I got my wish for the game but still want a playoff......yes I'm a Gator Fan who thinks Mich got screwed I'd much rather see OS playoff at VERY least I think OS should play Boise and UF vs Mich then let the winners play for the title.

In my opinion, the BCS is preferable to a playoff system. There shoud be no instance in which two teams play more than once in college football. Period. You get one shot. If Michigan would have played OSU again for the national championship and they won, then what? You have two teams that split the season series, and they would have had to share the championship. College football has always been a one-shot sport, and it needs to stay that way.
I'm looking forward to seeing the Bucks win another. |

I see both sides, I agree Michigan had a shot and being a Gator fan I am happy they will get their shot too. In fact I'm objective enough on the topic that if it was Florida who already had a shot and lost, I'd want Michigan in there.
However if UF beats OS (hey I said OS is my second favorite team ) Then they will both have a loss, to me this is similar to your scenario where OS and Michigan each win. I'll be ecstatic for the team but I don't know that I will feel it is "undisputed" (not that what I feel matters to the BCS or the Gators.) Overall I do dislike the system, look at what it did to Auburn….not only that but other one loss teams other than Michigan. Just looking out for what I feel is in the “integrity” of the game. Though if Ohio State wins the BCS “worked.”

i think a rematch would have been worth it regardless of the rules. Obviously Michigan and Ohio state are the two best teams in the country currently but it should be the champions of 2 different conferences like the pac playing big10 for the national championship. O well, we all know truly deep down inside that Michigan is the best, and Ohio state got lucky.
