Tweeter Install [Question]

Hey all,

Got some Alpine Type S speakers with separate tweeters. Gotta cut through the door panel in the front to mount them. Wondering if anyone else has done this, if so, where did you mount yours?

Thanks.

This is where I mounted mine;

All I did was go to my local wreckers and picked up another set of covers to cut into, and saved the originals incase.

shop that did the install on my car put them in the a-pillar trim. they used some bondo-type material to shape and aim them, then covered the whole thing with a layer of vinyl to match the original finish:

I did mine just like grelise not to hard and at least mine move about 15 degrees in any direction so it is a pretty nice mount. Going to dremel it more when I have some time and do a smooth mount like etimagos. Not hard, just make sure you don't pinch the wires with the door cover

If you are not going with active x-overs it's better to keep the tweeter as close as possible to the speaker, most of the time in the instructions there is a 12" maximum distance from center to center.
