STOP RATTLING WHERE?

HI

I was wondering where i can place a few dynamat slabs to stop rattling in some obvious areas that you yarisworld members have come across? Rattling in the interior of course!!

I have a those asian clip on rectangular mirrors for my rear view mirror and it rattled so I put a slab on there. Other than that, I hear rattling in a lot of places but I cant seem to find the right location to stop the rattling????

HELP ??

you could:

1) remove all non-car parts. get all personal junk out of car
2) get a passenger who can locate rattles
3) you drive around and let the passenger zero in on rattles, front and back

the trim infront of the cluster rattles against the cluster itself and at the vents, rear cargo flap rattles, a component inside the door lock little black box rattles(fixed with lithium grease), door pannels rattle (bottom and side) dash board against windshield rattles, in engine bay metal part under the front wiper cover rattles, mastercraft socket under spare tire rattles, jack inder seat can rattle. THE STUPID AIR VENTS ON THE SIDES OF THE DASH SQUEEK!!! fixed with crazy glue all the way around where the vent meets the dash

So i put so on the underside of the black thing inbetween the cluster and the air vent. I looked at dericks SQ thread and found the places to put mat on the door panels. a LOT less rattling now when the volume is turned up!!

Any other areas I sound look into while my car is apart for now?

Has anyone noticed a REAL decrease in rattles with some chassis bracing? Does a STB or any under bracing help at all?

I will also second the door panels, especially when playing music loud. The cluster area too, I am going to do my best to fix that soon.

Also, a good set of wheels, tires, and a good alignment should help fight the good fight.

dang

I have 28,000 on a 2010 HB and I have ZERO rattles

I am someone who also will go apesh*t if there is a rattle. All rattles
I ever had were due to something I brought in the car, not the car itself

OK ...ONCE the passenger seatbelt height adjuster rattled so I smacked it.

what the hell is with your cars, 'cuz mine is fine.

Well so far, my dashboard is a fiberglass one I got from Garm a few months ago (it used to be purple but now its grey!). The fit was around 90% perfect. There wasn't that much rattling in the beginning and I fixed those problems ASAP. But slowly more and more rattling came as I got a subwoofer and man, that really rattles things up!!

If you don't have rattles on your Yaris your music isn't loud enough and you're not driving it hard enough :D
