same reason Europe won't, it would cost them an arm and a leg to get them to pass all the insane amount of regulations.
I doubt it would be able to stand up to the US's crash regulations.

I bet you could import a Smart diesel or similiar unobtainium from Canada and just put polates on it and drive it with another reg and ins card.
Well...you could in NJ!

I thought you were inferring that the Smart needed to work out in order to become a real car. Then I remembered that it's pilates not polates

Should be about the same size as the SPARK , which came in with very good crash test results . Best in the category of sub-compacts .

If I recall correctly, the the big deal about the Spark's safety was only its performance in the new small front overlap test. I believe the Fit topped the category until that test was implemented.

Again, the thread title is misleading. In your world nook, it's 52mpg.

I would, if you can. I think Wee Yari is correct. I'd guess the target audience for the video = people in the UK, and expats living in Thailand. Thailand was never colonized by Britain, but the British influence is undeniable. I imagine this video was produced sometime between 2011-2013, as Thailand was scheduled to switch from Left Hand Driving to Right Hand Driving on January 1, 2014. If that change happened as planned, it would have been interesting to see that covered on local news as it was happening . I've driven in England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and Northern Ireland. Driving on the left is interesting . The one trip where I shared driving a rental was with a friend who is right handed (I'm left handed), and I found driving on the left much easier than he did. I have some of my grandmother's ambidextrous tendencies, so perhaps that helped .
