42" Plasma TV and my HB

While at Costco last month, I bought a 42" TV, put it on a sled, and loaded it into the back of my HB. Tight fit, and it was snug, but I was able to get the tailgate closed and latched, and didn't even have to adjust the seat backs.

As roomy as a station wagon ;-)}}

I think it would have fit better in my LB. My room actually.

nice... I did a 32"... no challenge at all. Tho...many sedans may have had issues with it.

Did you have to take any of the original packaging off to get it in there?

and placed it the whole width of car in back of the front seats on the floor . Nice and snug so it didn't wobble for the 50 mile trip home .

since it fits so well, why doesn't someone install it back there?

Didn't have to take it out of the box; Just carefully fit it in, so as to not skin up the soft plastic trim.

For X Mass I bought a Golds Gym exercise cycle for my wife. It goes in the museum, gymnasiums get used and not looked at. Anyways I was surprised it fit without having to tie the hatch back down.

Well, if it shows up on Pimp My Ride or somewhere, I think Garm should
get paid for his idea...he posted it before you.

the reason they want you to transport vertical is they are not packed to be laid down adn the screens can get cracked....working at Sears we see a lot of them like that.....sad part it is on the delivery truck that brings them to us laying down.......

says keep upright at all times on the box . This is due to the liquid crystals . Hope it didn't harm it . We went thru 3 faulty 32" L.C.D. tvs ( 2 SHARPS and 1 SYLVANIA before this one ( MAGNAVOX ). Three months and looking fine , KNOCK ON WOOD . Use it with the computer as well . NFL looks great in H.D. . GOOD LUCK and ENJOY .

I work at Costco, and we stack them on their sides all the time. As long as you don't leave them there for months on end you're ok. Same thing with Plasma. If you don't put anything pointy / sharp under it you should be ok.

That being said, I try to get people to keep them upright if at all possible. You'd be surprised what people will do to a poor TV to get it home - and they usually get all mad at us - like I had some control over which stupid car you chose to bring and buy this humongous ass TV. Hahahaha. People.
