Question for those with aFe intakes AND ScanGauges

Once your engine is nice and hot, how hot does your intake air temperature reading get when you sit and idle at a light?

The reason I ask is that I took off the metal heat shield off my aFe setup and get a noticeable rise in air temp every time I come to a prolonged stop. When the car is moving, the intake air temp drops quickly.

I don't remember if the original setup experienced a noticeable rise when the car was not moving.

Sounds to me like the heat shield is doing its job! Thanks for posting you findings.

when the car's at a stop the heat stays in one place. when the car is running,
the wind is probably blowing away the heat. The heat shield is doing it's job
by blocking the heat coming mainly from the engine

On my simota CAI I build up heat when in heavy traffic and and at stop lights too. Its sometimes raises by 15-20 degrees
