The easiest way is to use strips that have mounting holes or adhesive backing. Here's a place where I buy a lot of LED fixtures from:

The best way to mount the LED's is to use the clips that come with the kit, line them up and make sure they fit properly first. Then clean the area with the wipes that come with the kit.
I then added tie-wraps to hold the clips in place, just in case. With the seats being similar to the XB, this is easy. Just mount the LED's under the seats using one the the bars under the seat (like the bar that allows the seats to move forward and back). |

i have some pre wired LED (led with resistor for LED) I might have some more of the stainless steel mounting rings for them too.. you'll just have wire them up and wire them to a 12vsource (put a switch inline if you want to be able to shut them off)
send me like $5 total for the pieces and shipping .. i will send 4 of the pre wired led and the 4 mounts if i have them I did one on each foot well and one below each seat and its perfect. Not wicked bright like on that xb its a good brightness that isnt distracting when driving

Just want to clarify on this stuff since I'm just getting the hang of how things work when wired into cars. If I wire the power directly to the battery, whatever I have wired (LED's for example), will shut off when the ignition is off?

The battery is a constant "on" source, so you need to connect to a power source that is switched by the ignition. Tapping into the power to the lighter outlet is an easy switched source.

That wouldn't put too much strain on it and blow a fuse, would it? I guess I've had several things plugged into my lighter at once and it was alright...

The lighter is on a 15A fused circuit. You could run many strings of LEDs off that.
