That make's very interesting reading , but the proof will be
in the pudding , as they say.
it would be nice to be able too buy a bone stock yaris here in New Zealand
like what you get in the states .
The Yaris over here is fully optioned
with power everthing , the only option's you get is 3dr - 5dr 1300 or 1500
manual or auto or the RS1800.

Then you've got the new base Prius , no hope of us getting that i bet .

Great read...an interesting look into the kind of rethinking car makers are facing right now. Toyota has more going for it than most right now, and from a philosophical prespective (small, reasonably priced) the Yaris is one of their best offerings.

Toyota would appear to be in nearly as deep doo-doo as GM or any of them.

They just got a wake up call from GM and decided to take action instead of respond to a crisis.

Shoichirco Toyoda has good reasons to be very concerned. By comparison the high end RV manufacturing was nearly gone extinct in the U.S. as so many manufacturers have gone bankrupt in the last two years that its become a market of two or three suppliers. Toyota's strength has been its ability to turn on a dime to meet the market demands. With tight credit markets those changes won't come fast or easy anymore, IMO.

Its too late to get a wakeup call. Theyre caught with their pants down expanding insanely in the middle of a melt down.

Did you even read the article?

If you did, you would not have written what you did.

GM's fall is over 100 times worse then Toyota's hiccup.

Toyota couldn't stay out of trouble even slight trouble. They will however not have as much trouble as the Big 3. It won't hurt toyota to do any restructuring to stay ahead. Mainly because they have been doing it for years. The big 3 ignored any warning signs because they always knew the government would never let them go under. They were caught with their pants down.

Well I hope they dont do a GM. After all I will be owning 4 of them for the next ten years. At least!
Their problem is they wanted to surpass GM and built up insanely. Now their going to be losers for the next few years. Not as bad as GM....yet.
