What do you like most about your Yaris Sedan?

Since Toyota is not capable of making the Yaris liftback with ABS brakes without having to sell your soul to the devil, I think I am going to have to just buy the sedan. I guess i have no choice unless I buy something else.

So please tell me your likes and dislikes?

How is the gas milege?

likes and dislikes of sedan

great one gas (between 35-42mgp)

abs breaks are a must (i truly believe they may have saved my life a few weeks ago when I was driving during a snowstorm on a country highway that curved suddenly - i believe i would have crossed the center land and been hit by a semi had the abs not kicked in and stopped the car)

great stereo with the display with mp3/wma capability + folders

looks - has a very modern/semi-futuristic look to it that should hold up for years to come (unlike the very vanilla looking corrolla)

center-mounted dash - at first I was bothered by this but i've grown used to it and i believe it helps create the illusion of more space in the interior of the car.

Trunk space is good too

dislikes:

blows around too much on the highway

car constantly engages in engine breaking when the cruise is on when driving on any semi-hilly terrian which causes a less than smooth feel to the drive

paint seems to chip easily

I am not a fan of ABS, I just think it is for those who do not know what to do in emergency situations, ABS hinders some driving hard manovers

I like the roominess. I dont tend to have 5 people in the car at a time, so the centre rear armrest with cupholder is great. Rear legroom is great. Basically I like the sedan better for its bigger space.

I hate ABS - especially when the guy in front of me has it and I don''t. Short, sad story - you can guess

roof is lower that hatchback's, therefore less space for taller persons. it also has pronounced roll compared to the Hb

better ride and comfort due to longer wheelbase. trunk. less inspired driving. I think it's overall a better value

headroom maybe, but for somebody short like me that doesnt matter. it seemed to have more leg room in the back, and definately more trunk space

pros

interior space, trunk capacity, head unit (speakers decent), seats are better than any other car i've been in (except racing seats), shifter's good, gas mileage it great, price at the pumps...

cons

tossed around easily on the freeway, kinda underpowered, little on the high ride height side, no ABS (never had any problems, and my GTI had ABS and had more problems with that than my Yaris with braking).

I could have got the hunchback or sedan, I went with the sedan for personal taste reasons, mainly because:

#1. the HB's headlights are peeling too far back towards the windshield. The Prius is also guilty of this. It's a bad look, Toyota, get rid of it before it spreads to your other cars.

#2. I didn't like the back end of the HB being at almost a 90 degree angle to the street, its just too abrupt of a cut off. When I think of "hatchback" I think of the VW Sciroccos' style with a low angle slope.

I think if the front end/headlights of the HB was identical to the Sedan, than I might have went with the HB and lived with issue #2.

I've never had ABS so I don't feel naked without it. I understand that the sedans also have a tachometer, which if you drive stick is nice, but not absolutley neccessary.

I could not have said all that better myself... I absolutely agree with all that. Although I would add to the "likes" the shape of the car is freaking awesome! Especially with the sport body kit. Its the perfect shape I was looking for and that I like on a sedan.

One thing i noticed when I test drove the sedan was that it has a lot of blind spots. When I test drove the liftback i felt like I was on an suv. I feel like i need a booster sit or something. I am 5'4 by the way.

Do you think the winshield is smaller on the sedan or the same as the liftback?

actually, ABS does pump faster than your foot. not a chance there without abs.. or if you're so good at stopping in a slippery surface without locking the wheels. weither if you have abs or not, it would be the same.
