Looking to add foglights

I have an 09 Sedan and am looking to add foglights to it.

http://shop.microimageonline.com/pro...&productId=111

I found that at microimage, is that a good kit? Recommended?

I was also curious; would installing these require drilling/routing through the firewall, or is the wiring for these already in place? I looked around but couldn't really find a DIY/Howto on this. Any links to such a thing?

And would you suggest getting a stalk for it so it can have the 'stock' switch?

Sedan Fog Light Install/M.I. review

http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...180#post350180

You missed that thread?

Would I recommend the kit? ugh... the problems to be honest I dont know what to say at this point. Just keep reading what I have to say.

There is no need to run anything through the firewall, no drilling, just soldiering wires(or just twist and electrical tape)[and crimp into new pins and push].

The wires inside the car are confusing/most time consuming. The kit requires you to take out most of the cables, and keep just a few, and then you need to attach them to the right ends on two specific harnesses on the car. Other then that, everything else just plugs right in without a problem.

The positive:
It works, and you do NOT need to run anything through the firewall, as the kit uses the cables already in the car for the fog lights which aready run from engine bay to under the steering wheel.
The fog light switch lights up with the other lights, and the instrument panel displays the fog light when its pressed!
I got help from two others on here which helped me tremendously!!!!
It works.

The negative:
Lack of updated documentation/pictures with the kit.
The plastic covers for the fog lights need to be trimmed carefully else they wont go in, and like mine, they are not flush top and bottom of the bumper which will allow water to flow right in. I will be using crazy glue soon to fix this or silicone.
And the fact that the second wireing kit has a bunch more cables then what was EVER needed. This is because it was meant to be run through the firewall, but after some cutting of wires, and just keeping the few neccessary few, they finally worked.

Honestly, its nothing bad/nothing that cant be fixed, plus you have people here to help!

So now that I did all the hard work with this kit, and got it working, you can now support Micro Image, and buy his product.

I will be here to help, along with some pictures, and specific information on what to do to make things easy.

It's a little hard too up date and put a final install instructions togeather
when no one will supply photo's for the sedan wiring .
Help me to help others
It also doesn't help when the wire colors in the kits keep changing
as for the fitment of the black shrouds , that is very unusual, 99.9%
of all the installs i have done they fit perfectly .

glad you got them working okay

By buying the stalk as well, the kit is totally plug and play .
Fit lights and shrouds
plug in the 2 connectors under bonnet into pin 1 & 2,
plug in relay-(supplied by Garm) ,
and a fuse(if not already there) .
fit new lightstalk , all done .
No wiring
but your fog lights will turn off when high beam is applied, (standard factory operation.

After installing mine, my high beams work with the fog lights still on.

But maybe this is because I am using a bi-xenon HID kit for the headlights as well? Since the wires are a little different there as well.

Either way I am happy they both work together.
