I know you worked hard on this, and I commend you for that, but it looks really ghetto.

The plastic on the amp looks like a Jerry Curl couch cover, the carpet incisions are glaringly obvious, you did no cable hiding or management except two wraps of electrical tape, and your Dynamat was obviously a very quick job, with no effort spent on reaching the edges of the space it is meant to aid.

If a shop did this to my stuff I would demand a full refund and never come back.

The amp isn't even mounted people. I think he was just trying to illustrate what his intentions are.

BTW, it looks like you are putting together a nice system dude.

yeah you guys are right. i have not finish the install yet. so far i have installed infinty 6.5 2 way coxial in the rear, rockford 4ch amp, 4awg wire, infinty 6.5 componet front spekers, all the spekers are in 2 ohms i dynomited the rear spekers, add the dei 530t window mod. and hooked up to the key switch. and i have the original radio with high lows. i did cut or slice any of the factory wires i just got a front and revers oem harness. and as for the bag on the amp, it came with the amp and i took it off after the install. also the amp is locade under the front pasenger seat. as for the big hole on the carpet, it was there arighty, if you open it up theres some numbers and letters. and i didn't mount the amp cause im not doun tunning it jet. the extra thing i would like is a rockford 1000 rms mono amp under the driver seat. 2 alpine 10' or 12' type-r, and a 2 frad cap. and mybe a new radio. oh and thanks for the replys

Silly me... because I was thinking, with the Dynamat Xtreme, is it really necessary to cover every edge? Won't the amount shown in the picture add enough mass to alter the resonance frequency of the panel, and thus achieve the same as covering everything? Btw... I have never installed anything ever.

Take your time and keep things nice and clean. That amp needs to be rotated 180 degrees. The wires will be hidden and look better. The heat sink will be exposed as well, aiding in cooling. Have fun and dont get into the habit of "hooking things up real quick to see what it sounds like" Installations rarely get the finishing touches after that. Like I said have fun and take pics.

and you were correct... bail commented that the dynamat was poorly done because it didn't reach the far sides (edges) of the sheet metal. In actuality those are the most rigid parts of a flat stretch of metal... it is the center that you have to worry about. The guy at sounddeadenershowdown (.com?) did a lot of testing and even has videos and has concluded that putting x amount of mat on the center 50% is much better than putting x amount of mat evenly spread over the same amount of metal... for example, you have 4 sq feet of flat metal surface, you also have 4sq ft of mat... you'd be better off covering 2sq ft of the metal, but doing two layers thick.

Si,,,, swidd.... yeah, you are right... covering all the metal with the mat is an aesthetics issue only.

oh yeah... and really.. the heatsinks on amps aren't meant to disappate heat... they are so poorly designed they shouldn't even be called heatsinks... they have a horrible surface area, therefore are poor at transfering the heat to the surrounding air regardless of what position they are in. I wouldn't be too concerned with position. Plus, to get any kind of cooling improvement you'd need to install a low noise fan, like a low output 120mm computer fan (and reduce the voltage to say 9v using a rheostat to help keep noise at a bare minimum).
