Ford salesman can say whatever, but our vehicles are on top of the food chain, Ford is a thing of the past, there no competition, nor anything like toyota vehicles. So I wouldnt get worried on fiction I go on fact, the Yaris is a gas saver and money saver. Holla at me.

Check out the real-life figures here: http://www.spritmonitor.de/en/overvi...nstyear_s=2009 and see this example: http://www.spritmonitor.de/en/detail/355320.html
If the average for diesel Fiestas from 2009 onwards is 5 l/100 km (47 MPG US), then I'd say 4,1 l/100 km (58 MPG US) can't be too far away. |

There is no "canadian-diesel" model.
But the Fiesta has a more refined engine compared to the Yaris, and an extra two gears in the automatic. So, it might be possible with some serious hypermiling. |

in canada we use the metric gallon @ 4.5L vs the 3.8L gallon they use in the US...thats why our window stickers show about 25% better mileage than anything you'd read from a US print.
my yaris, iirc, showed 40/50 for city/hwy MPG's when i bought it....USmpg is what? 33/42 or something?

And have you not noticed that the Fiesta (US official EPA estimates) significantly beats the Yaris? It's rated 30/40 compared to the Yaris's 29/35. That's nothing short of remarkable. You blindly state that nothing beats the Yaris and that Ford is the past. Actually, Toyota has it's work cut out for them if they are to compete with the New Ford. |

I have no plans of buying anything other than a Toyota because I know long term reliability can't be beat (outside of maybe Honda). It's just that we can't continue to shoot down Ford and perhaps GM as well as being the crappy companies they were. They have really turned it around as it was finally do or die for them. |

No doubt, I work in the Coliseum here in PR and I had the chance to see this vehicle in person, they had the US version and the Euro, of course the Euro was amazing the interior etc was of the chain, but the US was nothing that I could say wow. I feel you, I m 35 and I ve been driving trucks with my dad since 11, and we all drive Toyota vehicles. All I ever had was toyota. Holla my dude.

i've been scouring the internet for real world figures on the mpg of the new fiesta, i found 2 reviews, one observed 27 mpg and 31 mpg on another. i'll believe this 40 mpg hwy when i see proof. most "reviews" are just paid ford commercials that regurgitate epa figures without really measuring the mpg.

Hmmm - I gotta admit that I almost bought a Ford Focus and / or Ford Fiesta simply because of the perceived notion in my living area that they offer "more engine" power for the money - but I of course went with the Yaris as most Ford sales reps lied thru their teeth about real-world mileage and reliability.
