Roof Rack
Hi everyone. I've done some searching but i'm looking for a definitive thread on a roof rack that could hold a canoe or kayak, canoe is preferable. I have the 2dr model and have thought about foam block but I don't know if that would work or if I should spend the money and get a nice yakima or thule. Thanks for the help!

Unfortunately, the two door will not give you enough bar distance to safely carry a boat. Thule makes an extender that will give you 15 inches between bars; will work for skis or a bike, but Thule recommends a minimum of 24" for a kayak or canoe. I'm so glad I looked into racks before i purchased, I was looking at 2 doors.

I believe Yakima makes a kit that has two tracks that you screw on to the
roof, that would give you 24", there should be a thread on that, but you gota drill holes in the roof, not a good Idea if the bank still owns the car. |
