Why isn't there a "hatch" release lever on the floor next to the fuel release lever? I have been pressing the "unlock" button on my remote key twice to unlock the hatch. Is this the preferred method?

that's just the way it works, after all the hatch is considered a door (hence 3/5-door), so should be accessed as such

That's one of the 100+ projects on my list for mine. I've looked into it and for under $100 I can pick up the actuator and popper to automate the hatch. My remote starter has an unused aux output and an extra button on the remote that I will use for exterior opening.
