Pioneer Splits - HELP!

Hey,

My JDM-Vitz 5-Door Liftback doesnt have Rear Speaker Mount Points in the Doors, and I don't really want to start cutting the door panels... I am running a set of Pioneer 6" 230W Splits in the front, and was thinking of putting a pair on the Back too...

My idea is to put the Main Speaker on the Rear Shelf, and put the Tweeter high up in the Pillar above the seatbelt pivot...

Does anyone have any advise for me on this, guesstimates as to how it may sound, or any other suggestions? Also, am i better off with the Splits, or should i just opt for the ol' faitful Pioneer 460W 6x9s instead??

You are probably going to get alot of different opinions on this. It depends on what you are trying to achieve with your system. I don't have rear speakers in my car at all. As a matter of fact any car I have ever done a system in for myself or my wife has only had front speakers and a subwoofer or 2.

Some people like the "surround" effect however. I submit that you can get better components up front by using the money you'd spend on rear speakers...

Well, all i really want is clean balanced sound, so i thought Splits in the Front, Splits in the Rear, and a Pioneer Flat Sub in the back where the spare wheel is would give me that....

wow, i couldn't imagine driving around with only front speakers. My dad just bought a Jag convertible and all the speakers are in the dash, and it just annoys me to no end. I just can't take listening to it like that.

You need to listen to someone's car that is set up right. It will blow you away. You won't notice the lack of rear speakers.
