Question Traction Control Removal

I have a 2010 3dr and I want to take off the tractional control. It comes on when I don't need it. Would anybody be able to tell me how to disable it? A fuse? A Wire?

whatever you do to disable it you'll lose your ABS as well

cheapest and easiest way is to pull the e-brake one click...but you're brake light comes on. its enough to disable abs but not enough to touch the shoes to the drums

that disables the ABS? wtf, really?

and rather than dragging around with one click, why not just ACTUALLY BYPASS the switch?

One click doesn't drag the brakes. Especially when you don't do regular brake adjustments.

On my '10 5-Door, pulling the e-brake one click causes the E-brake warning beeper to go off constantly.

Same with most of us probably. I pulled the harness that goes to that switch.

Not sure if it helps, but I pull the ebrake a few clicks to get some better brake balance when I'm at the track. Again, not sure if it helps, but my BUttdyno says it does.

there was a post somewhere where they found the way to make the yaris turn off traction control with a weird combo like clutch in twice pull up ebrake etc. i dont remember where i saw that in the forum but with some research you could find it. Not sure if that was a TS thing though.

On the US 2010 HB Models there is an option of having a switch to temporarily disable/turn off the traction control. After reading the DIY Cruise Control Threads, I'm starting to wonder if it isn't just a matter of finding the right points to tap into the wiring harness with an aftermarket push button switch.

The Factory switch is located in the center console were the Aux Jack is. In place of the Aux Jack actually. I'll pull some covers and see if there are any unused plugs in that location.

From 2010 Hatchback Owners Manual:

no there is no switch on US models, despite what the US manual indicates

there is no wiring harness when there is no switch

1) incorrect. you can disable it and keep ABS

2) incorrect. use the 'procedure' to disable it. e-brake is for those
who can't use the search feature or google properly

3) incorrect. on properly adjusted brakes, this will cause brake rubbing and overheating of the rear drum assembly

Disabling TRC&VSC works very well on my Yaris with the "procedure". ABS is still working. I had much fun in the snow during the last months.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong...but I think for the '10 model, manual tranny versions have the on/off T/C switch and autos do not. Perhaps that's where some of the confusion is coming from.

if im not mistaken , isntthe TCS run throught the steering wheel? like the actuall TCS on my car, i know its a scion but its a idea, is always off cuz i did a steering wheel swap with a quick realease hub and i no longer have the option for no traction control, which IMO sucks, cuz when it rains out here i have no chance and traction when i hit a puddle that is un-avoidable.... IMO no traction is mmeehh lol

If have manual transmission but no switch. I can switch VSC&TRC off by doing a special procedure with ignition, e-brake and brake pedal. Its mentioned in this forum a couple of times.
