Paid off

Finally paid my Yaris off. got it Oct 08? it was used with 9k miles. i got cheated when i asked for $12, and when i checked online after purchasing it said i owed $16k (warranties and junk included.) Was really mad about getting screwed into it, cause i came back a week later to switch and the salesman said no...until he switched dealers 3 months later and called for me to come to his new place of work and get screwed again...douche...anyway, i win. taxes came in and the car is paid off.

guess it's time to start looking around again, there's an srt4 neon for sale in MO...

Paid off so you're looking for another one? I paid mine off 1.5 years ago.. and will at all cost avoid going into debt for a car again: ever since paying it off I buy any-F-thing I want, and still have leftover money to max out retirement savings and a slush fund. Driving a 40MPG car with cheap insurance is like...cheating the system.

haha too true. if i got another car it would either cost under 5k or would be a trade for my car, no more long car notes.

Yeah... no payments here either.

Now, if I can only make that mortgage disappear....

I got my '09 in June of '09 and paid it in full in Augest of '10.

It's great to have no payments.

Got it new in May '08 and paid-off exactly 2 years later (4 years ahead of time). No plans for another annoying car payment. Got enough now to handle my sky-high insurance payment and still be able to put a little more food on the table.

Got Yariko new in Oct 09. I'm just shy of half way through a 3 year loan. I don't mind though because they were offering 0% interest so any inflation means I'm paying it off with cheaper dollars.

Don't do what I did! Take the same amount of cash your car payment was and stash it back instead of blowing it! If I would have followed my own advice, I would have been able to pay cash for my new Yaris this past June. But at least I have 0% APR.

I got mine with manufacturer incentive and dealer discount, took out my saving and paid in full. So no interest and got rebate. Took me awhile to get my saving back but worth it. This my first and last brand new car. I'll buy used from now on.

You might want to ask your doctor for Vesicare or Toviaz. Good luck and congrats on full ownership!

TickleTimeTim you are crazy for wanting another car right away. Save money and get something ever nicer once the Yaris gives in. Congratulations on paying it off!

I'll be paying mine off this summer and cannot wait. This car payment is a real nag. I'll only buy used from now again. New cars are only good for those who can really afford them, have to buy one because they don't have the money for a used one, or for suckers who don't know better than to buy from stealerships.

I haven't had formal car payments in over 20 years. Except for one big one every so often. Buying used can be more expensive if you don't know what you are doing. The best and most trouble free miles are gone. The question becomes how much was saved for those miles.
