2006 Yaris RS
I am about to go visit a 2006 Yaris RS fully equipped, Auto, AC. Price seems great at $6000. Mileage is rather high though at 150,000 km. (90,000 miles) Is there anything in particular I should look for on this car. Anything that would make or break the deal apart from the obvious? This car is going to be for my daughter who starts college next fall and needs fuel efficient transport. Don't think I can go wrong with a Yaris. A quick response would be appreciated as I am going to see this car in a few hours. Thanks in advance.

check the condition of the brakes and shocks/struts
make sure the oil has been changed regularly and the auto transsmission fluid has been changed... generally 150000km on a yaris isnt that high....it'll run for a long time.

What a waste of time. There was not a single portion of the car that was not chipped or scratched. Front had been poorly repainted. Left fog light was missing. The interior was beyond salvageable as every seating surface was stained and the rear had a rip in it. The head liner was ripped and the plastic on the dash was scratched everywhere. Going to look at a 2005 echo RS hatchback for a thou less.

I finally found a super clean fully loaded 2006 RS white auto Yaris at a reasonable price and laid down the deposit this morning.
Question, want to upgrade the grill, front lights and tail lights pretty soon but noticed most of the grills refer to 3 door hatchback. Are there actually any differences in the grills and lights when getting a 5 door hatchback? I can't see anything but maybe there is? Last edited by Midnightsun; 04-18-2011 at 04:18 PM. |

3dr and 5dr front bumpers are the same from 06-08....most websites only mention the 3dr since the US only got the 3dr and sedan until 2010 (or 09?)

150k is nothing if the car has been taken car of. Mine is at 140k almost and it still runs like a champ.
