Yaris tachometer programmable
I built this digital tachometer using the Parallax Propeller micro-controller. It is programmed in Spin interpreter language.

pretty cool, did I see it jump to 6600+ on acceleration? At 0:32.
The rev limit is 6250, so you might want to take a look into that.

it is nice, but as was noted in the vid, it is a tad off on the high side. And maybe it is percentage wise, because 6600 rpms woulda prolly damaged a stock engine.

Yaris gearing/rev limits
I checked the tire size and gearing specs. Calculator says I'd be at 6,330 RPM at 65 mph in third gear. I'll reprogram my calibration constants today. I also need to add a method to flash the display above 6000 rpm. On the earlier BS2 bar graph tach I used the flashing display but that was in pBasic instead of Spin.
My next goal is to enable and calibrate the speedometer readout. Then when I go to a bigger tire size I can easily re-calibrate it myself against the GPS.
