my problem + search review ... creaky squeaky dash
my problem is that the glass/plastic cover in front of the guages on my '07 sedan creaks. when i apply pressure to it with my finger it stops. this means that it is somewhat loose. any suggestions to fixing this? i would like to avoid the dealer and i would like to avoid a ghetto/quick and dirty fix...
now, i did a search. here are other people's problems with in-car noises: rattles while driving around the dash in front of the steering wheel http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...ighlight=creak driving on the freeway or just on the street and hit some little bumps, the glove compartment begins to make some clankity sound http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...ghlight=rattle weird rattle coming from the engine when it was on idle http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...ghlight=rattle had them take a look at the rattle that was coming from the center of the dash ... They removed the speedometer, and placed foam behind that area http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...ghlight=rattle start the car after it's been parked for awhile, it would make a high pitched squeal after I turn the key http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...ghlight=rattle The glove box was rattling - sounding like it was coming from the a-pillar. http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...ghlight=rattle heard a noise in the air conditioner system http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=185 rear speaker plastic panels IS NOW makin the rattling noises http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...ighlight=noise devinlamothe ( http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/sho...ghlight=rattle ) had a similar problem, but the people that replied to this person's post said go to the dealer... i think going to the dealer is overkill for this small problem. |

Just because you think it's a minor problem doesn't mean it actually is. I would take it to the dealer to start a record of maintenance on the situation. It might seem like a waste of time but it could be the difference of being shit outta luck when more problems arise and being protected with your records.
