Pick wrong set of tires..help..

After speaking with Black Yaris in the chat room...i've been very upset cause I picked the wrong set of tires...
As we know stock is 185 60 15
The one I got are 205 45 17 Falken Ziex Ze 512
Black Yaris Suggest 215 40 17

Now what would you do if you were in that position?
get summer sets and sell the falkens?

If you have 7 inch wheels those will be ok. It really is going to depend on what suspension setup you have and what the offset is on the wheels weather or not that setup will rub.

215s might have been better, but 205s will certainly work without issue.

Both sizes are rated as replacments for stock. The ones you got are a little taller than stock where as the 215/40/17 are almost identical in height.

205/45 with a 7 inch rim and a +42 offset on tanabe nf springs will rub....the problem isnt really the height of the tire, its a combination of the wider tire, and the offset pushin it out towards the fender....205/40 tires would be the best option with a similar set up to mine.....

Agreed, That's what I just got. 205/40/17 on 17 x 7 with 38mm off-set. No rubbing on NF210's. I'll post some pics when the weather gets better.

Toyota (TRD) recommends 205/45/17 as optimum for their TRD struts/springs package . At least that is what I read in the instructions for the TRD struts .

I also have 7.5" wide rims and 215 tires, they are a little stretched, 225/235 may have been better, but 205s should not be a problem by any means, and will have less chance of rubbing. You can always upsize next time you change tires, I think that's what I'll do.
