My brake shoes rub against the backing plate. What grease can I put on that won't ruin my brakes?? Thanks!

You can try some anti-seize where the shoes touches the backing plate. Just a fine layer...

Assuming the squeak is from the rear (and it should do so when e-brake is pulled/released too):
Use a screw driver to gently pry the shoes away from the backing plate and apply a thin layer of anti-seize to the 3 spots that shoes touch the backing plate. Clean most of the dust out, and adjust brakes. Chances are if it's moving enough to make noise, you are way out of adjustment. If you were to sand the shoes, and remove the sharp edges, you have just completed a "rear brake service and adjust" and you can charge yourself about $50

Cheers.

Absolutely. I heard the same sound, took my car in (not to the dealer) and the shop showed me what was wrong. They did the job (very inexpensively), and the sound disappeared.....and of course = rear brakes only.
