It's not a Yaris but it's a Toyota (Scion IQ)...

Hi everyone !!

You knew me with this car....

Now i have this....
Scion IQ 2012.

And i have this project...

So, i bought 2 rolls of carbone fiber wrap vinyl...

And i started my project....

Phase 1 (the hood) of the carbone fiber project is now completed successful !!!

First step, clean the hood and pull out the top moulding clips for a better finish.

Step 2, put some reference points for cutting the extra vinyl i don't need.

Step 3, just check if everythings is ok before starting the installation.

Step 4, ........the final result !!!

Phase two....

I made the eye lids for the headlamps, following the patern of the hood.

And i tinted the rear/back windows with 5% limo film...
(At the moment when i take the picture, the back glass was not done. Only both sides).

phase 3.....

I completed those body sections between the doors and the rear windows.
Because of the rain starting, i couldn't do the doors pillars, i'll do it next time.

phase 4....

The hatch !!

First i have to takeout everything (handle, wiper, dealer sticker, name plates), and clean it perfectly.

And put the CF....

And put back almost everything, and it's done !!

I had extra time before the rain comes (again), so i put some chrome lines on the front grills.

Next weekend i will continue the project and new pictures will follow !!

Looks good! I had considered that vehicle too but it's just a bit too tiny for me.
I'm loving the carbon fiber too. I think that goes really good with that bright red.

Thank you....and by the way, it's not bright red. Scion calls it "Hot Lava" !!
It's like a dark orange.

Congrats! What have you been getting re MPG? Did the MPG change appreciably with your current wheel/tire setup (or was that included when you bought thee car) ?

It's approximately the same except for 2 things...

The fuel tank is 10 litters smaller than the yaris and my wheels/tires (as you can see they are the same i had on the yaris) are a bit smaller than the original size on the IQ, so i run 4Km/h faster than the real speed.

So those factors will affect the MPG (or KM/L).

I kept the original wheels sold with the IQ for winter driving.

I was totally debating between calling it red and orange.
Hot Lava sounds like the perfect name for that color.
You name it yet? ^_^

When I was shopping for a new vehicle, I actually wanted the Scion IQ, but due to my height, I was only able to fit comfortably in my Yaris. Sometimes physical size determines vehicle choice. I am glad you fit.

That's beautiful cf work, jm.

I've always liked the IQ's because although they're short, they're not narrow. I sat in one, and it's suprizingly roomy inside.

I love what you've done! Brilliant work! I'd rebadge it with the proper Toyota emblems.

Where are you in Quebec?

Here in Canada, the IQ is made by Scion, non Toyota so i kept the Scion badges.
I'm in laval, near Montreal !!
