Routing XM Antenna Wire - Toyota Yaris Forums

Is there any existing point in the firewall (rubber plug, etc) that will allow me to route my XM antenna wire without drilling?

You could mount it in the back behind the radio antenna and run the wire through the hatch's weather stripping then under the side panels.

Takes like 10 mins. Looks clean too.

I mounted on the leading edge with my Tacoma and it worked well as it was the shortest path. I am not stuck on this location, just wondering.

I put mine in between my rear speakers on the backdash......works through the glass, tint, radio antenna just fine..

Have you tried the Roady through the AUX port? I'm curious is that works better then FM. I get a lot of interference in my area from something.

I drove up too Crutchfield (30 minutes away) and picked up a ground loop isolator for my Aux input. The XM now sounds like a CD.

Nice! How does the ground loop isolator install? Wouldn't happen to have any pics would you? All of the GLIs Ive seen have been RCA style connection. Is that what you have also?

I replaced my standard antenna with the sirius antenna, looks much better.

No, but I'm thinking about it. I do get some interference at times as well.

I installed my roady last night without the Aux cable. It seems to be better quality on FM then my Explorer was for some reason. I'd still like to try the cable though. I ran XM directly into my Alpine unit in the Civic and the quality was amazing.

Is there something you can buy to put under the magnetic antenna? The antenna left marks on my roof on my last car. I don't want to install an XM antenna on top of my new Yaris if its going to screw up the paint.

I just waxed the antenna mounting point about once a month on my previous vehicle and did not have any problems with the finish.
