Walker Quiet-Flow Stainless Steel Muffler

I discovered this option for those of you who need/want to change your OEM muffler to a direct fit conventional design muffler:

Walker Quiet-Flow SS Muffler #53757 (2006-2015 Toyota Yaris)

The price is very reasonable. Here are a few sites where you can get one:

$61.78 with free shipping from Amazon.com

http://www.amazon.com/Walker-53757-Q.../dp/B007EJF9AQ

$52.79 - 5% + $8.99 shipping = $59.14 at rockauto.com

^^^ Quiet is good for me, as well. I read some reviews and most stated it was OEM quiet, while a couple indicated it was a bit louder when they tromped heavily on the accelerator.

There we go... Some real world (yarisworld) feedback.

When you get a chance, can you tell us how long the muffler tip is? Thanks.

I would say same as stock I was able to place a nice tip on it plus use BBQ black paint on muffler to blend in over all looks good and sounds better.

Thanks, Exilwolfman. Is it any louder at cruising speeds, or just under heavy acceleration? I didn't want muffler drone to make me crazy.

I'd paint it black, as well. I was wondering if my 8.5" Pilot SS tip would fit with this muffler and still be tucked under a bit.

I would say mainly under load over all its not as quiet as stock but very nice and sounds cool in high rpm range as for tip think one should be fine, mine is in about same as stock there but not in your face lol

Does this exhaust give any improvement? On my Echo RS (RIP) I had a bigass muffler, and it have a significant improvement in low end, as well as better highway mileage. I'm now looking at options for the 2006 Yaris I've replaced it with.

I have the Walker Quiet-Flow 53757 on my 07 5 door hatchback. I used it to replace my rusted stock muffler and I'm quite happy given the price and the fact it's stainless steel and has a lifetime warranty. Well only the canister is actually stainless steel and the piping is regular aluminized steel. I do think it is a bit louder than the stock exhaust as it is a simpler more conventional design without the loop of the stock muffler. Walker also makes an OE style muffler the 53919 which is more expensive but I could not find in stock anywhere so I went with the 53757.

If you're going to replace the muffler yourself which isn't too hard you'll need a couple copper exhuast nuts since the Walker doesn't have the nuts welded to the flange like in the OE muffler. And you'll probably need to replace the steel gasket at the flange as will come apart in pieces if it's the original one.

Don't expect any kind of performance gains from this muffler as it's only a muffler and not a cat back system, and uses the same size tubing as the stock design. Besides with the Yaris 1.5L generating 105hp even if you went with a real performance designed cat back system and managed a real sizeable hp gain of say 5% it would only work out to 5.25hp.
