I recently had my air con re-gassed. Since that was done, when I switch on the air con the engine fan comes on with it.
My car is a Yaris 1.3L petrol 2006. If I switch off the air con the fan switches off. I just don't understand why the fan is linked with the air con? Just wondering if it's a temperature sensor? Just don't understand why it's randomly just started happening. Thank you in advance for any responses Last edited by Gc972; 06-13-2020 at 03:13 PM. |

The engine fan starting when the AC is turned on. In my 2007 is normal operation.
If you recharged the AC. I understand if the charge is too low. The AC does not run. Maybe if it was not actually running. Starting the engine fan may not have been triggered on. |

The fan needs to move air past the condenser to cool the refrigerant. How else is air suppose to cool it down unless you’re moving.
