Bare Steelies

What do you all think my black Yaris with tinted windows would look like if I took the wheel covers off and went with just plain black steel wheels?

The bare steelies can be pulled off if you have a 2" drop but get an exhaust tip because you're drawing attention to the lower part of your car and a nice chrome tip will go with those chrome lug nuts.

The wheel covers that come with the car are not really 'cheap plastic hubcaps.'
I'd say leave them and try to find some wheels or something....steelies are okay i've you are rolling in a '95 Civic or something, but not really a newer car.

They don't cost much = cheap
They are plastic = plastic
They are hubcaps = hubcaps

Where am I wrong? :p
And I didn't even say plastic. :)

I can think of nothing worse than a slammed black Yaris with black steelies.

Wait... tint the windows real dark. There you go! Now, you've got a nice new car that really looks like shit!

Honestly, it looks like you bought the cheapest economy car, and it didn't even come with hubcaps. Particularly to the public (90%) who know nothing about cars. Better mediocre looks than downright "salvaged" looking. IMHO

To me id rather rock Steelies then Hubs any day, When I lower the Yaris she will be on Steelies for a while till I figure out what wheels I wanna put on. To me your car is YOUR style not the guy next to you. If you want to paint your wheels pink then by all means go do it. With that said of course a lowered car will look better with actual wheels rather then Steelies or Hubcaps. The only idea I can think of that wouldn't look so "cheap" Would be to maybe keep the hubcaps on but paint them black? But then again that may look cheap to some people too.\

I took my plastic wheel covers off right away. They get scraped very easily and if I had not removed them they'd have looked like dog doo doo in no time! I'm saving them for when I trade the car.

Even though I liked the look of the steelies better, I never planned on it being a long-term thing, got new wheels within a couple months.

But it's your car, cavetipse, fix it the way you like it.

I personally run hub caps because I think bare steelies look unfinished and junky. Just my "dos pesos."
