New Opel Corsa vs. Toyota Yaris

Hello i am a guy from portugal and i am 19 years old.

I have been looking around many cars and the last two to decide beetwen the new opel corsa and yaris(not the sedan, it has not been released in here).

Could you please help me out with pros and cons.

i like the interior of the opel corsa very much, but yaris is automatic and dont need key to get in the car nor to start engine. from the outside both of that are very nice.

How are the fuel consumption of your car?

p.s - i am bying a diesel car

DAMN.... I saw a few of the regular models on my holiday, but this one is sweet, a Mini Cooper killer? When oh when will Toyota wake up and offer a REAL sport version of the Yaris? The TS or TRD Turbo versions are nice, but kinda lukewarm, not hot...

Anyway, the original poster is more interested in the tamer diesel models, unfortunately the vast majority of the members here are in North America where only the petrol version of the Yaris is available, so it will be hard to get many opinions here

Either one in a diesel version would be sweet. However, drive them both as some of us are finding the Yaris seat and lack of teloscoping steering wheel a bit uncomfortable. Good luck.

I have the new model Yaris diesel and it's a fine ride.
The mileage is 5.1 l/100km but i ave to say i have a very heavy foot

I have found a test between the Yaris, Corsa, Polo, etc but the Yaris was better than the Corsa and Polo.
The Yaris is more quiet in the inside, better mileage, better specs, etc!

The 3-doors version of the Corsa is really ugly and the 5- doors looks a little bit better but still not a real beauty in my opinion.

I say go for the Yaris, good luck with making your choice!

No question, the Toyota is the better car... that's a fact. But that Opel is certainly nice to look at! I wish the Yaris had those fenders, and ...

I think a lot of members here from the US and Canada haven't seen the Opel Corsa in real time, it isn't a beautiful car as the picture from the OPC version.
The normal ones have strange proportions, wrong lines, a shiny black dash.

The Yaris has a way better balanced design, drives better, is faster (except for the OPC off course), less expensive, the interior is easy to use!

thanks for your opinions,

i went again to stands to take another look of the cars and i think yaris will most probably be the choise, the only thing that bothers me are those ugly dark seats, i guess i will have to put light beije covers or something like that,

what do you think i should change to make it a better interior, which colours of seats, material, etc?

If you can, you could get the seats done in leather, it won't be cheap though! But the problem with getting beige seats only is that it will not suit with the rest of the gray interior, unless you get EVERYTHING covered in leather

That's why I say... red seats covers!

the yaris s is not available in here yet. oh why is there always something missing..
i prefer the older version of yaris because its more compact and suitable for my age.

i guess i will wait a while people have been telling me that there are 2 or 3 models coming to portuguese market. peugeot 308 hybrid seems to be really nice mostly bcos of the fuel consumption.

it was time for hybrid car to come to here, petrol is much more expensive than diesel.
