Driving Like An Idiot After Rain

The other day I was at home with the window in my room open. I'm studying, and the next thing I hear is someone peeling out, and then shatter. I'm thinking, "Who is stupid enough to peel out when it just rained?" I thought someone would be injured, so I put my stuff down, grabbed my keys and a jacket (friggin cold out, and all I was wearing was shorts, a "wife-beater", and flip-flops), and drove out onto the street to find a blue Silverado smashed into a tree and about 10-15 feet of the cement wall gone. I got out of my car, asked if everyone was okay. People around said yes, and I looked into the truck. No one was there. I asked the crowd where the driver was, and no one knew...driver was either racing or drunk/high. Cops came, I left (cop told me to leave ). Obviously the driver was not hurt since he ran off. Lucky too since the point of impact into the tree was less than a foot away from smashing in the driver-side door (entire bed of the truck caved into the tree).

Shit happens, especially to people who are under the influence.

Based on all of the television cop chase shows...... that sounds like normal driving for people in California...... that is the way the media presents it!

We have been in drought in Australia for many years now. In fact in Victoria we are on stage 3a water restrictions and can't wash our cars or water lawns. You can only water plants at certain times of the day but only on designated days.

People here have forgotten how to drive in the wet. When it rains here (rarely) it's generally enough just to make the roads greasy and people spin there wheels and slide out and hit things.

People need to slow down and be more cautious in the wet. Espically here.
