Pillar Gages and Side Airbags

I was thinking about mounting my tachometer on the A-pillar down towards the base of the windshield. However, I have side airbags on my '07 liftback and I don't want to damage them if I use screws to mount the tach. The tack is an Autometer Autogage 3 1/4" tach, and I'm not 100% sure double-sided tape will hold it up.

If I use screws am I likely to ruin any part of the side airbags? How far down do they go?
