BEST rain/wet tire
Typical stock Sedan currently has 185/60R15's
"winter" rainy season is coming here and I'm preparing to leave for deployment to Baghdad for a year and need to ensure the family has the best possible wet-weather traction tires as Memphis TN drivers "speed up and act a fool" when it rains... They actually try and get into accidents to collect your insurance checks, though oddly enough none of them have insurance. -- V/R SandSquid |

i have yokohama avid-trz on mine after reading a favorable review on consumer reports. they scored the highest in 'wet weather traction' for all-season tires iirc.

The Goodyear Assurance TripleTred Tire would be a good choice.

I'd install Yokohama AVID ENVigor, size 195/60/15; an long-wearing all-season tyre with outstanding dry and wet traction.

^kimona, i'd be curious to hear what you've heard personally on the avid envigors? i talked to a guy at discount tire the other day about them and they're supposed to be very good. i'm in the market for a high-performance all-season(i live in the snow-belt and don't want to buy a second set of winter tires). i know the two terms don't usually go together except for michelin, but i don't want to spend 'michelin money'. thanks and sorry for the kind-of thread-jack!

Nokian makes a winter-rated all-season tire. My mom is sporting a set on her 2000 Civic. They are pricey, but tread life, noise, and snow traction are all excellent (I'd say almost equal to her winter tires!
