Loose relay in the engine compartment.
Hi everyone.
I have a 2011 yaris hatchback.. I noticed a loose relay inside my engine compartment and was wondering if anyone knew where it is to be fixed. The model number of the relay is MB141967 Hate to see that dangling loose. it was tucked away behind the fuse box but I am sure it is to be bolted somewhere . Sure would appreciate the help Thanks. |

A picture of the relay would help.

A check of the part number showx it to be a general purpose 30 amp relay.
It's most likely been added by a previous owner at some stage. Any non original lights or an aftermarket alarm system?

Everything is original. It was tucked away behind the battery, and when i removed the battery to clean some leaves that got in there, I found this. Just wanted to know where it was bolted on to so that I can put it back right there.

That's definitely not OEM.

Where are the wires going to? That looks like a generic relay to me.

Stated in original post. Behind the engine bay fuse box.
Somebody go check their car and see if they can spot one. I'd do it myself but currently don't have access to mine. Sent from my EML-L09 using Tapatalk

Upgraded horn? Towing lights? DRL bypass? It's aftermarket, no way of knowing what it goes to without tracing the wires. =)

Definitely a mod. I found a wire in my car going from the battery to the tail lights, apparently one of the previous owners thought that the indicator circuit wouldn't handle a trailer and decided to use a relay. It does work, though, so I'll just leave it in there for now.

it just disappears in to the wiring harness. There are no extra lights or any such aftermarket stuff on the car. its pure stock. I bought it from a lady who used it very sparingly. Just felt that maybe someone knew what it was for, and where it would have been mounted on. I found it behind the fuse box in the engine bay.

Have you thought of removing it temporarily to see if something stops working?
