Front brake back plate
Hi,
2004 1.0 Front brake back plates rusted away. It looks like the hub has to come off to replace. Am I right ? |

That is correct, and the process will destroy your wheel bearing. Best just to run without a shield and replace it should the day come when your bearing needs to be done.

as ive managed it with other cars..can you cut a section out of it to slip it in without pulling the bearings?...or is there no access to the bolts?....i know i did it on a 96 supra

you can ghetto rig something up, i tried doing that and kinda ruined my knuckle in the process, in the end you should do it right the first time and preparefor a new wheel bearing.
