FML!! I don't even...

Ok, I just got my new Konig feathers and was installing them on my car using the OEM jack, and while doing the last tire, front driver side, the jack slid off and my car was resting on the brake rotors.. i paniced but with some quick thinking i safely got it back up with some help and placed the wheel on. looks like the rotor shield is bent up, but i bent it back in place. took it out for a test drive and seems like nothing is wrong with it, but im gonna take it to the dealer for inspection just in case.
im guessing the jack slid off because i was being an idiot and only chocked the rear wheels and not the front as well + was in the dirt.. the jack was stuck under the car and i had to lift it up to get it lol.. hard lesson learned but im still worried.

cliffs -
changing on new tires
car fell off jack and rested on rotors + jack

same thing happened to me when i tried to change a flat. promptly called the roommate to bring the 2-ton hydraulic floor jack. spare changed in 2 minutes. factory scissor jack is useless. if they only designed the spare well off-center then there would be room for a floor jack

back when I had an XB, one of my friends jacked up my car to pull a wheel off. I was around the side having a smoke when i hear thud and come out to find my front passenger side was resting on the brake rotors.

it didnt cause any damage though so he was lucky...

My stock jack is bent sideways ish. Might've been from previous owners. It doesn't LOOK bent when it's completely retracted, but it can't lift the car worth crap. if I ever go on an extended road trip, I'm taking a hydraulic with me

Almost had this happen to me once while changing a flat. The OEM scissor jack moved while lifting and twisted slightly (like it was gonna buckle and give-out). Lucky for me I got the job done without anything bad happening. Since then I keep a small floor-jack in the car.

Also ditched the crappy OEM lugwrench for an old-school 4-way for better leverage.

I dropped my Jeep on one of the brake rotors when installing a lift kit, didn't phase it a bit...

SHould be ok right? I mean, that brake rotor is supposed to take tons of heat, so it must be built. Right?

Mine does too, but the constant rattling is nothing compared to smashing a rotor against the asphalt at the worse possible time.

What ive seen the WRC guys do if they need to change a tire is put the spare under the frame while changing the tire.... i think they do it for safety reasons but it works the same. Ive been doing it like that since ive seen them do it.
