TRD Struts Longevity
Greetings!
My TRD springs, shocks, spoiler, bumper protector, and mudguards just came in today, and I am so excited to put them on. However, as I was reading the information provided with each item, I noticed that Toyota stated that the shocks are only guaranteed for 20,000 km (12,500 miles) or 1 year. Does anyone else have experience running these shocks long term. Do I really have to replace these once a year? Thanks. |

No different than anything you buy in life. Manufacturers will provide some sort of short guarantee/warranty. The 1 year guarantee is not the stated life of the product.

You have the springs that they're matched for, so you shouldn't have any issue. Like WeeYari said, this is pretty common warranty for a part like that. If you cut your springs in half and then try to run them, then yeah...you'll have an issue.

Thanks all.
I guess I was confusing the guarantee with expected service life. They should be going on soon! |

I put mine in with the Mexican rough road springs (taller/stiffer) and not a lick a trouble from the set. Its been a few years n at least 50-60k miles. I would have to check exact. I probably have it posted somewhere on this forum. @ 198k miles now.
