if i do this...then this happens

when i go on the highway and go around 80 my car starts to smell, any ideas?

when i took it into toyota to get my belt replaced (yeah it was cracked i guess, but now i dont think they tightened it enough because when i start my car it makes a wicked loud chirping noise, the manager said to not leave my heater on when i turn the car on, but it still does it regardless) Anywayss, i took it in because i had to get the belt replaced and my passenger side lock stopped working, they ordered me another piece, but i need to get back in there so they can install it...anyways back to main point, i told them i was going 65...i didnt really want to tell them i was going 80, hehehee.

any ideas?

thanks!

Loressa

First question - where are your heater controls? Are you on recycled air or fresh air intake?
Also, what KIND of smell? Just plain funky, or rotten eggs (just to give some choice to start with)?

I usually find that it is the truck a half mile in front of me. Once passed, the smell goes away.

IFAIK, on the tsb there is a prob with the front exhaust pipe melting closed - they will put a new front pipe on and its good for a couple HP over new stock! I guess its a dual wall pipe to keep exhaust hot for the converter, but us hard driving guys toast the thing. They used to have 'em on big Chevy's to make the car quieter and they had the same problem. Fixed a few in my shop back in the day ...
