electric malfunction
hi folks _ ran out of gas in New York City, called AAA back on the road for about ten minutes then engine just slowly died like the fuel line suddenly jammed. Best I could do was have it towed to a repair place there and find out it has something to do with the anti-theft aparatus in the Yaris (?) - has to reset the key etc - any of this sound familiar?

The two issues really shouldn't be related. The engine immobilizer (which needs to see the transponder key) only affects starting. Once the car is running the ECM no longer cares about the transponder key.
By the way, it's good to see more CT people on the forum (I'm in Southbury). |
