rental car

So I just made the reservation for a rental car while in Orlando in March... Went through Enterprise. What I found weird is that the "economy" class listed a Chevy Aveo or similar. And the "compact" class listed the Nissan Versa, Toyota Yaris, or similar... Wouldn't it be funny if we ended up with a Yaris while on vacation??!! But actually I'd like to have the Versa for the stay. Reminds me of a scene in "Hereos", I think season 1, where the one character, Hero Nakamura, goes up to the rental car counter and requests a Versa, accent and all, and it had to be a blue one, to match the comic book of the future. (Thank my boyfriend for getting me hooked on that show.)

if you get the versa make sure you sit square in the driver seat of passenger seat, the door panel sits flush against it, no joke.

The Versa is interesting but I dont think I would be at all happy with that cars MPG. I hear car rentals are getting pricey.

Bout $200 for a week (Mar 12am - 17noon). And that's the cheapest I found it. Other places had their low end starting at around $250-$300 for the same time frame... I was surprised by the price from Enterprise...

Just dont take the car outside of FL, they rape you with extra fees and added mileage rates if you cross the state line... They track via GPS.

Thanks for the tip. We plan on staying in and around Orlando, with maybe a day trip to Tampa to go to Busch Gardens.

When I rented a car out of Miami they gave us a high lighted safe route out of town.

Whatever you get, drive it like you stoled it.

Try to find a car rental that's in the terminal. It's very convenient. Car rentals outside the terminal can be aggravating when you return. It might be wise to pay a little extra. Just a thought.

I was in Phoenix a month ago and got a Yaris from Enterprise. What a disappointment. The car came with nothing on it except a speedometer. I have power windows and cruise and not having it on the rental was a real let down. I don't know how people cope without those creature comforts.

I view things like that as boat anchors around my neck. In a few years theyre going to break and cost $$$$ to fix. Except I have YarisWorlds CC which cost like $8!

there is no gap between the door panel and the seat cushion for the two front seats. if you're not sitting directly in the middle of the seat when you close the door you will get hit. that is why the whole door panel is padded (just about)

TO DevilGirl try calling L&M car rental here in Orlando. they have a GREAT HABIT of meeting and then beating any quote you get.

I work for Avis/budget by the way and honestly yeah car rentals are getting expensive. I've seen receipts in the cars for a few days range from $65-350 not even a whole week!!!

Thankfully the Enterprise rentals are in the main terminal at Orlando Intl. I made sure of that fact. Though my dad (who travels every week for his company), frequently rents from places that are not at the airports (usually finds a shuttle to get back and forth). And that's in both large and small cities...

Got a number for them? Do they do pick-up/returns to the airport? While I don't have much of an issue with shuttles, my boyfriend hates them...

Perhaps in the 80's or if you own a VW.
Today your window crank is as likely to fail as the electronic gear.

Checked out their pricing on their website... Bout $150 more for the week than Enterprise... Called to ask bout meeting/beating Enterprise's pricing, was informed that could only be done at the counter with a confirmation in hand. Guess I can try it when we get there. Worse case scenario, I have to cancel the Enterprise rental that day. Though I suppose I should see if there are any charges for cancelling on short notice... A lotta places do.

Thanks for the tip though!

EDIT: Booked directly through Enterprise, there is no cancellation surcharge. Yay!
