Creaky hatch door? - Toyota Yaris Forums

My hatch door sounds a little creaky when I open and close it sometimes. Also, it creaks once in awhile while driving. Anybody else notice this sound?

Yes, my 2007 has recently started doing that. It sounds like it is rubbing something when I shut it. I open twice a day. I have not oiled it though.

I had that problem about 6 months ago and took it in to Toyota. It turned out to be the top hinge on the right. The tech oiled it and it's been squeak free ever since.

I've noticed this recently, though it mostly seems to only occur on really cold days. Good info. maryinredding-I'll give it a try.

my car has done it since day one...... thought it was the hydrolic.... will take a look in the morning
