yaris down :(

havent been on here in a lil bit and im on my iphone so no pics at the moment, but my '09 sedan was totalled on the 1st of this month. if anyone knew about the massive flooding in TN a couple weeks back, i was one of the victims of it. grr. my fiancee and i both lost our cars (she had a 95 nissan pickup) and her parents house was flooded (we were temp. stayin there til we moved into our apartment on the 5th). the water rose in our area ~4/5ft in 40 min. my yaris was already lowered on df210s so the water was half way up the windshield. it was unreal to see my alarm goin off and the lights flashin underwater. lost a lot of stuff in the car (half packed fer movin -- trunk and back seat were full of stuff and lost all books / college stuff). its been very very hectic this past month but im not gonna get another yaris fer now. id love a 4dr hatch but cant afford one yet! we both have vehicles now, we went to kia and got their 2 cars fer one note deal -- its legit. i got her a 2010 kia sportage and i have a 2001 hyundai tiburon. i used to be kinda biased against kia but the quality of them has gone waaaay up or else i wouldnt have gotten one. i will say that i miss my yaris but thankful we are still here. ill try to get pics up sometime soon, dont have many but it says it all. -- mods were custom axle back muffler delete (crazy tip angle), df210s, 8k hids, nst towhook, stereo system.

I live in Memphis, too, but was fortunate enough to make it out of the May Day flood without losing anything. Glad to hear you and your family are safe. Sorry to hear about the Yaris. Hope the Hyundai treats you well in the meantime. Mind if I ask what area of Memphis?

Wow not too far from me. I'm in Raleigh off Old Brownsville. Some of the streets in my area flooded pretty badly, but my house is fortunately on a hill. Chances are I've seen your Yaris around pre-flood. There are quite a few sedans in Memphis. Mostly in the midtown area. I've only seen two or three hatchbacks though. It always makes me smile seeing another Yaris on the road. I'm sure you'll get used to the Tiburon. I was driving an old '86 Mercury Grand Marquis and my mom's Ford Ranger before I bought my Yaris. Took me a while to get used to how small the car actually is.

It's a pity about your Yaris and all your stuff. I guess your insurance didn't pay enough to buy another Yaris? That sucks too... Glad you are ok, tho. I hope your replacement cars work out for you.
