Who will get the Scion iQ?

I'm curious to see how many people are going to be getting the Scion iQ when it finally hits our shores this year, either as a trade in or accompanying car. I've been eagerly awaiting its arrival until I noticed a few things with the US model:

  • Edit: 1.33 engine without start-stop system like Euro model
  • Same width as the Yaris (66.1 inches)
  • Same steering wheel as Yaris instead of non-symmetric one in Euro version.
  • No manual transmission, CVT only
  • Smaller and harder to use radio controls compared to Euro model
  • Probably starting around $14,000, to fit the "premium" small car niche occupied by Smart car
  • No glove compartments/pouches on dash, like in Euro model
I obtained this data from a bunch of different sources online and from Toyota. I'm kind of bummed now that I see it for what it is: a shortened Yaris with less practical use, higher price and negligibly better fuel economy. What do you guys think? Who plans on getting one?
