Wouldn't it be hard to hate something you've never seen?

I've close to 80,000 kilometers over 3 years on my '08 sedan. It's driven past dealerships many times. Only turned in once, to buy some wiper blade refills.
Aside from tire shops, nobody has laid a hand on it. I do my own routine maintenance.

It's a poorly written article... What they meant to say is that they hate the Yaris because they can't make money off it.

Notice how all the "mechanics hate" cars are Japanese (the company at least)? And none of those that made the "mechanics love" list are :)
