bummer

Quote:
As reported previously, the original FT-86 concept was just that – a design study – and Toyota is apparently second-guessing the styling of the coupe before it reaches production. Additionally, ToMoCo is reportedly gauging the success of the Honda CR-Z, which could influence the final drivetrain specs of the FT-86.

I won't believe it...I'll have to grab some additional magazines overseas and see what the scoop is officially.

And...CRZ drivetrain? no.......no.....
I mean, the CR-Z is becoming a good car to mod in Japan, and maybe soon here as well...but seriously, that will break my heart if Toyota considers that~~

Vitz FTW...

I guess enthusiasts can switch to Nissan, Hyundai, Mazda, Subaru & Mitsubishi, leaving Toyota & Honda to deal with old farts that can't tell the difference their gas and brake pedals.

*yawn*

Part of why I bought a Yaris is the frumpy image, making it less of a theft magnet than all those Hondas the kids love to rice up so much.

um, that happened a long time ago. Toyota hasn't had a real sports car since the Supra in 97, and honda lost everyone when they switched the civic to a crappy suspension design to save a few bucks per car.

Come on Toyota, you do this way too often. Tease us with exciting product previews, and then delay or cancel them.

By the time it gets into production, they might as well call it the FML86.
