Intercooler Fitted

Wel spent the morning in the workshop fitting the intercooler to the car, feels like it has a lot more torque and pulls better past 60mph than before, doesnt kick out any smoke which is good and has no difference in turbo lag, getting it remapped on the 3rd of october, the company doing rekons it should be around 130/140bhp so cant wait!!

any replies appreciated!!

Odd, you hop in here with an 'Intercooler Fitted' thread without first having threads on the actual turbo build.

We need to see more!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its a D4-D engine. Its a factory option in the Yaris in some countries. It looks like all that was done was a larger intercooler was added.

Nice work BTW, that looks like a really clean install.

The engine is a 1.4 d4-d, here in the uk the options are a 1.0 and 1.33 petrol and a 1.4 diesel so nearly all of them are diesels as the petrols are so slow, thanks for the comment

the 1.33 petrol engine isnt slower than the diesel. my 1.33 litre has an output of 110hp. i think the diesel has no chance, at least at higher speed (>50mph).

I think you're mistaken, although the 1.33 might have more horsepower then the d4d, the d4d has WAY more torque, and that's where the d4d has it's strengths against the petrol engines.

The 1.33 only has about 97 foot pounds of torque, while the diesel has about 140. (If my research is correct.)

I've never seen piping done that way. Can't comment on it, no information. Stillen does it, sort of:
