Pulley Squeak

I just put in a new pulley from micro image and now the belt is squeaking against it. Makes my engine sound like Donkey! Solution anyone?

did you check and make sure that the alternator was pulled back to it's original position and did you make sure that it is aligned correctly. If it is a little off it could make some noise on when the belt rubs the A/C compressor.

Just take the bar to change your tire with and wedge it between the alternator and mount and pull back on it while tightening the bolt on the alternator to lock it in place, did so with mine and it stopped the squeaking. Also make sure your belt isn't damaged, didn't notice mine was damaged and it completely snapped while I was driving and my engine overheated :)

I had put a mark on the alternator and the bracket before i loosened it to take it off. The belt still looks ok from what i can see. It starts to make it once the engine get warm.

You should re-tension the belt, regardless of where your mark was.

and do not under any circumstances spray anti-squeal in there... I had a squeaking problem too, thought it was already too tight so tried that stuff, and well... belt disintegrated not too long after...

Was the pulley 100% installed correctly? Torqued to 95 ft/lbs.? Just checking.

Yep, went and bought a torque wrench just for it. I listened today when my lady got home from work. I think it may have stopped. I'll have to get back to it when i can. Thanks
