anyone running 18s?

I was wondering if anybody was running 18s on thie yaris. How did it afftect your MPG, drive, handeling?
Thanks in advance. Running 18s on mine. The 215/35-18 are almost within 1/4 of an inch the same diameter of the stock, so speedo and all is still dead on, and it looks good.

Here is before & after...

after:

it has not been lowered or modified suspension.

fuel used around and extra L per 100km around town. highway is about the same

Handling/breaking in the dry is much better.

lower top speed/acceleration compared to stock 14's

okay, thanks...

I noticed the lower MPG, so I was trying a CAI, but it keeps triggering the darn MAF sensor, and it is air tight....

what size tire do you run?

The CAI internal diameter has to be the same as stock.

215/35/18 same as you.

I'm not sure how to fix the CAI problem. But I've drilled some holes on the lower section of the standard airbox which makes it louder like having a pod filter on :/ and with some piping to the front for a 'cold air' intake.

I did do a few acceleration tests from 50km/hr between a couple of markers on the road before and after adding the 'speed holes' to the airbox. ended up getting around 6-9 km/hr better after

A stock 1nz with a CAI won't really honestly net you much for better FE. You will spend more money to put a viable solution on than you will save for years. 18s are just plain heavier. You pay to play. I ran my 18s on mine for about 2 years. Loved the look, but was at almost 60lbs per corner! No way in hell I would have done it without being boosted. As for top speed well mine were 225/40/18 so I actually was able to hit around 125mph while the ECU had no idea so when the fuel cutoff hit at 118 that is what it thought I was going.

Which CAI are you running? I'm using the K&N typhoon with out any issues what so ever. Also stanced on 17"s. Pretty low I guess so it's hard for me to give you an accurate mpg and handling write up.

2" is too small.

I'm fairly certain the exact size is 2-⅜". But just do a search on the forum to find it.

I ran 17's on my echo hatch a while back and I hated it. Completely ruined the handling, acceleration and braking of the car. Sold them and went back to stock. Rims size and weight is so crucial to the overall performance of the small cars. You don't have much power to play with, so any weight and or diameter changes are felt instantly!
