installed an ACT clutch last friday

From my previous turbo tercel (and friends tercels), I have plenty of experience doing clutches on small Toyotas

The yaris was not much different. Just more stuff to move, or get out of the way. Took me most of a day, but a solid 3-4hours was just waiting on the flywheel getting machined. Then reassembly took longer as I was wire-wheeling all the bolts and applying anti-seize. Took me 1:45 to get the trans out & maybe 2.5 going back in.

Its their Heavy Duty pressure plate with a sprung, organic disc for excellent streetability. I ran the same PP, but a sprung 4-puck on my Tercel and that was excellent as well. Brand new Toyota flywheel bolts & fresh Amsoil synthetic 75-90 severe gear fluid.

And my cheap trick for removing slop in motor & trans mounts. Ive been doing this for YEARS with great success for street cars. Ive been running the torque mount on the Yaris for 4~ years 'filled'. Decided to 'fill' the trans mount too. Car ended up being quieter inside with less vibration (especially noticeable is when the AC cycles on, before it would buzz the car, now I almost do not notice it engage), go figure.

Overall I'm very happy. Pedal feel/effort has increased moderately (I feel like I'm driving a sports car now, lol). The biggest change for me, my old clutch was engaging at the top of the pedal travel, while this is just off the floor. So my shift timing needs to change at low speeds to not lurch the car. Its just a matter of getting used to it & adjusting my habits.

The clutch is rated to something like 240lbs ft of torque. Which gives me plenty of headroom for whenever I get the turbo on the car.
