Adjusting drive belt tension questions
The deflection and tension specs for a used drive aka serpentine belt for my 2010 Yaris as shown in the Toyota Factory Repair Manual are respectively: 11mm-13mm and 180 ft lbs-289 ft lbs. That seems extremely tight. Are these figures correct?
Is the 90 degree belt tightness test(meaning twisting the belt to the point where it feels like it doesn't want to twist any further) adequate? What are the most reliable belt tension gauges that are reasonably priced? Thanks for any replies. Last edited by Rob888; 09-27-2021 at 04:43 PM. |
